What defines a great story? A good story transcends time or culture, appeals to ones emotion and capacity for love and happiness, offers a unique perspective or simply captures reality in a positive light.
As a photographer specializing in weddings, my goal is to be a great storyteller. My purpose is to use the camera to capture the light, ambiance and emotion of people, places or things and tell a compelling story through photographs. This simple, creative process results in images which can be shared and cherished. The best stories are re-told for generations.
Padre Photography was inspired by my parents and our memorable family-of-seven summer vacations to South Padre Island, Texas. On the island, I followed Dad as he photographed sand dunes, wildflowers and brilliant landscapes as the sun dropped out of the sky and into the ocean. After graduating from college with a business degree, I began working as an I/T portfolio analyst. Years of practice and self-exploration as an amateur photographer, a few formal photography classes and an apprenticeship with Ever After Images launched my professional photography career, turning a dream into reality.
A native Texan and Texas A&M Aggie, I currently live in Austin with my husband, Luke, and our Golden Retriever, Boston.
Thank you for visiting the Padre Photography blog and gallery.
